Reflecting on 2021

December 31, 2021

I don’t think there will ever be a year as unique and interesting as 2021. A year with so many twists and turns it’s hard to keep track. For me, this is no different. 2021 is a year of twists and turns, good and bad.

This year was my second year in university, and my first year in a new apartment. I finally, truly have a space to my own and it has been extremely freeing to have it. It’s a space that is mine and much more space than my previous (relatively large) dorm room. I am so grateful to have it.

This year, I came to realize my sexuality and finally came out as Bisexual. It genuinely was so relieving and freeing to be able to do so, almost like a weight of being closeted was lifted off me. I am so endlessly grateful for the acceptance and the positive response that my coming out post received. I am endlessly grateful to be a part of the LGBT community, and to be able to uplift others that were in a similar position that I was.

This was also the year that issues with my gender identity became more of a struggle than ever. I’ve long questioned my gender identity, and even now I still don’t know what I want for myself. This struggle culminated in the release of “Him or Her” as part of the Inner Thoughts series on my YouTube channel. I can only hope that in 2022 things become clearer on this.

I also entered my first relationship, and although it ultimately didn’t work out, it ended amicably and I learned a lot, so I am glad to have been in the relationship in the first place. I hope I’m able to begin another relationship in 2022.

As for my professional career, I am extremely grateful to continue to work for Quackity this year. It’s a job that I truly love and I am extremely grateful to have it. I am also grateful for the Quackity community for being so welcoming and sweet.

My online audience significantly grew this year, with my YouTube channel finally reaching 10K subscribers (despite me not posting anything) and my Twitter reaching 2.7K followers, a larger audience online than I’ve ever had before. I’m extremely grateful for everyone that’s joined me this past year, and I hope to expand my audience even further in 2022.

I also started taking streaming more seriously this year, streaming more this year than any past year, and becoming Twitch affiliate. Even still, I did not stream as much as I wanted to. I intend to commit to an actual schedule in 2022 and stream more and grow my Twitch audience, perhaps even reaching Twitch partner.

My mental health also took various twists and turns. At the beginning of the year, my mental health continued to improve, although towards the end it also began to decline again. I hope to resume therapy in 2022 after reducing it toward the end of this year and taking it more seriously.

None of this would’ve happened without my friends, so here’s everyone I’d like to thank:
