Thank You Miiverse, and Goodbye

This is probably gonna end up being my last Miiverse post, so I should probably make this one count. I joined Miiverse around Christmas of 2012, and made my first post around a day later. This was about a month after the Wii U released. I remember being so hyped for the Wii U, and being disappointed by the day 1 update, but enjoying the launch nonetheless.

Miiverse was really my first social media platform, as at the time my parents didn't let me use any other social media. In retrospect, this makes sense, as I was only 10 at the time. Miiverse was my stomping ground, where I made many, admittedly terrible posts. Many of these posts have since been deleted. I would be active on this site for the next 3 years, from 2012 to 2015.

From there I would move on to bigger sites where I could freely express myself. During those years however, I had a lot of fun. I enjoyed the communities, the fun, the art, etc. One of the most memorable moments for me was the 2013 Rayman Legends protests. I also remember getting hyped for Nintendo Directs with everyone else, and looking forward to what was new with the Wii U.

Over time, however, I moved on. Additionally, it was around that time that it became clear that the Wii U was a failure, so Nintendo largely dropped it. Now the Nintendo Switch is out, and Miiverse is being killed. So for one last time, thank you. Thank you all. Thanks for allowing me to grow in my first online community, right here. Thanks for helping to shape me to who I am.

One last time, thank you. I'll see you all on the other side.
